Dear friends this Is to Inform you that we
Arrived this Morning July 11th 1850 at Sacremento Sacramento
Citty [City] and are In Reassonable [reasonable] good Health hoping
these few lines may find you all the same I stood
the Voyage from panama Panama to san francisco San Francisco verry [very] well
But Peter on the last End of the voyage did not feele [feel]
so well and did not feele [feel] well while in sanfrancisco San Francisco
where we was three or four Days But is Better after starting
up the River and arriving at saramento Sacramento he comes
up to his meals all Right again So we start out
to see the mines soon after writing these few lines
I am verry [very] much Disappointed in the country it is
much Better than Expected sanfrancisco San Francisco is quite a
citty [city] and Evry [every] thing there that you woud see in New
York
Peeple [People] all Buisy [busy] Bustle the same as City with streets Crowded with goods and Buisness
although Provisions brings a good Prise [price] and board
about Eighteen dollars per week and still higher in
Citty [city] This Citty [city] is quite a citty [city] is quite a large citty [city]
nothing But Bustle and buisness with hundreds
of stores and houses and Evry [every] thing Plenty the account
from the mines here are about the same as we
hear in the states name some are making their piles and
others nothing But they say that Evry [every] man that is industrous
and dont [don't] drink nor gamble makes money
of all gambling I Ever saw this country is a head [ahead] you
will see Bushels of gold and silver in their houses
and full of Customers where a good many of the
miners money goes I learn I wish you to to send
