notoriously unfit – for enrolment's [enrollment's] sake –
Ought he to give me bec. [because] he mi't [might] sometime
wish it for himself?

This rule does not apply in all cases of
doing what we mit [might] wish for –.

3. But the true method is based on benevolence.
I am to be sure my wish is proper & right
before I claim to have it gratified on the
score of this precept.

No benev. [benevolence] without justice – judgt [judgment] & mercy.
Anything wished wh. [which] takes from any one
his rights, or injures the public good
ought not even by this rule to be granted.
A right heart will not wish what is not
