Let us Strive somewhat to compre-
-hend them. Let us inquire –

I What grace is ~
Used in various significations in
the Scriptures.

1 Grace signifies t. [the] subjective state of
mind in God wh. [which] led him to take measures
for the salvation of the world. It is the
grace of G. [God] that brings salvation. "By grace
are ye saved" &c. [etc.]

2 It denotes the favor itself which
is shown. The gift of his Son, C. [Christ],
to die – the bestowing of the Special
influence of the divine Spirit –
