Inefficient bec. [because] they do not begin
deep enough – & do only half-way
work.

IV. How shall men attain the ex-
-ercise of the love & sympathy he ought
to put in practice?

1 Look at men as C. [Christ] did when he
came from Heaven.

2 Love God complacently – love holiness
be in sympathy with like in God, &
be inspired by the feelings of a
Being he intensely loves & admires
