(3) [centered]

How few of the great & good have been rich!
How few whese [whose] names shall never die!
How few of the happiest & most useful!
Riches are in the way of long life – pure
living - joyful living – eternal life!!!

II Therefore the conclusion is
reached – since life may be pos-
-sessed without them – & they with
-out life ~

Yet it follows -
(a) That – though both may be in our
possession at once – the life does
not consist in the abundance.
Though we become rich & live to be old
wealth adds not to our years –
Though become rich what real hap. [happiness] we have
may be independent of our money – –

(b) That – since life is only worth living
for – is the only true wisdom – we
ought not to confound them – nor
to mistake their true relation.
