viz. [namely] A mind free from any
such inordinat [inordinate] lusts – which
can content itself with the will
& service of God day by day –
and allow no murmurings, & no
discontents to burn in the soul – &
take whatever God may provide.

1 We see here the cause of our barren-
-ness in religion – our little engagedness in
Gods [God's] service – God withholds – for
our good albeit – & we fret & refine –
God gives, & we lust – & He sends
leanness, want of joy into our souls –.

2 We must reform. Serve God
better, at all events. Then He will
give – without any curse – or withhold
& yet abundantly bless. ~
