3 [centered]

No terror now is in that sound
A haughty foe to quell;
The bugle's note is wild and sad,
It only breathes – Farewell!

A monarch comes! From regal arms
Remove the envious dust;
A monarch comes! the triple crown
Free from its gathered rust.

Guard him not to halls of state,
His diadem is riven;
Bear him where you hallowed spire
Is pointing up to heaven.

And with the requiem's plaintive swell,
With dirge and solemn prayer,
Enter the marble halls of death;
Enthrone your monarch there.
