has been a sad one – What was the first cause
of her insanity? It is a most deplorable condition
to lose ones mind – Truly we need all our faculties
to get along comfortably while here – but the law of
wearing out, holds good and we can't escape it.
I am glad cousin Jane has gone back to visit
the dear ones there – I would like to join her in
that pleasure – I have had letters from her, but

used to write, but have not had anything from her

in dear old Vt. [Vermont] – What a longing I some-times
have to see the few dear ones left – and the dear
places I loved so much – It does seem that I
must go – but I must not allow myself to think
of it since I can't go – But I do often visit
you and the other friends in thought and
