in a few days to See our wished
for port. All vessells are gone a
head [ahead] of us as our ship will
not Sail on the Wind as she
Makes esctraordinary [extraordinary] lee way [leeway].

Our Ship is Thirty Three years
Built So it is time for her
to lay up. On Wednesday
Augt. [August] 8th We entered the Bay of
San Francisco and came to anchor
within a few miles of the town
as we entered every thing [everything] looked
grand. The Entrance is about
one Mile Wide and Secured
by Mountains on each Side
