Again have I made an unsucsessful
attempt to get Some information from home
by the way of Letters from Some of my relative[s]
After Sending Several times to San Francisco
without Success I went myself the distance
of about three hundred miles to satisfy
myself And I cannot tell the reason
why I do not receive any letters I sometimes
think that none of mine has never reached
you and you have not Known where to
direct I will not be ungenerous enough
to suppose that I am entirely forgotten
By all my relatives at least by you from
whom I have always received So many marks
of Kindred feeling but I am now away
from you all; two years and a half without
one word of intelligence from any body
and am nearly in the last Stages of
despair and if I do not get any by this
I Shall quit I will now alter my direction
and if any one writes I Shall be pretty Sure
to receive it -- direct your letters to
