I have
Stated nothing but what I know to be true
dont [don't] do anything because I advise it because the
only acts of my own life for which I Blame myself are those to which
I was influenced by the advice of others
had I always followed my own inclinations
I should not have been the Miserable homeless
adventurer I have been for the last five years It
has not been for nothing however for I would
not agree to leave my property money & position
in Marysville for $5000. In property and money
I am worth nearly if not quite that amt [amount]. Besides
the agency of which I am assured I shall make something
very handsome out of my commision [commission] Business. I have
got myself in a position to rise and grow with the growth
of the Town. I consider my success certain. I have calculated
the chances and do not fear the future. My health
is perfect it was never better in my life my head
is pretty well sprinkled with grey but my heart
is as young as ever. Let me have Sara and the children
with me and the only deficiency I will have will
be that you Aunt Murray Sue & Will & your little
ones are not here to live in this delightful country.
If you ever wish to see me again you will have to come
here as I expect it will be a long time ere I will
be able to leave my business to visit you. Love to all
the family. Kiss the little ones Good night.
