Nothing of importance ocurred [occurred] untill [until] Monday Jan. 29th

It being very stormey [stormy] and continued so untill [until] this
morning a perfect gale tremindeous [tremendous] seas passing over the
vessel every few minutes threatning [threatening] the distruction [destruction] of
the vessel & crew. At 9 Oc [O'clock] all hands orderd [ordered] on deck to save
the vessel from wreck by casting overboard the deck load
with which the vessel was encumbered since we left port.
All hands fell to work and in less than half an hour
One hundrd [hundred] & fifty barrels boxs [boxes] casks etc. were stowed
and throwen [thrown] over board containing bread meat molasse [molasses]
rice brandy etc. belonging to Ship & passengers, besides
the frame work of two houses thus lightening the load
vessel and enabling it to ride out of the storm in safety.

Our bread 7 barrels was on deck and of course it went over board.
It was truley [truly] astonishing to observe the indiferance [indifference] or
insencebility [insensibility] to danger of the great majority on board.
Whilst but few appearad [appeared] to tremble at the danger which
surrounded them. Feb. 14 We have had fine sailing weather
for the last fifteen days making three to three and a
half degrees pr [per] day. We have had seen quite a number
of vessel [vessels] but non [none] enough to speak. 18th We crossed the
equator this mornng [morning] 9 Oc [O'clock] in Longitude 24.36. It is not
unusual for vessels to be detained at this point for
weeks in consequenc [consequence] of the calms that prevail but
we being a fortunate sett [set] of fellows were not
detained more than four days.

There has been four or five vessels in sight all day
but none near enoug [enough] to speak untile [until] the 19th.

The Capt. thinking the neares [nearest] one was a Caleforney California
