I have also as you are well aware
been away from Home Three years --
a much longer time than I expected
to be away when I left, -- but now
I have concluded to remain here a year
longer at any rate, and at the end of
that time circumstances may transpire
that will induce me to remain even
longer, still I do not think now
that I shall wish to remain here
any longer, unless you make up your
mind to come out to California

If you do that, I should not
wish to leave here, for a person can
make a good living here much easier
than in the Atlantic States.

I have not heard from San Tucker [Samuel P. Tucker]
since I last wrote you.

Please give my love to Charles
and Harriet and write often as usual

Your affectionate Son
H. A. Parker [Henry A. Parker]

To
Mrs Ann Parker
E. Pepperell Mass

[written vertically in the left margin and over the horizontal text]
Excuse the bad appearance of this letter if you please
as I have written in a hurry, and been interrupted several times.
I shall send Charles a paper containing a full account
of the recent Bank Failures in this city.
H. A. P. [Henry A. Parker]
