I Religion should be a matter
of prudent forethought & calm
deliberation ~

1 We are not bidden to act con-
-trary to the dictates of highest Wisdom.

Our reason is to be used –
"Come now & let us reason together" –

2 We can not be hearty & earnest
Christians till we are fully
persuaded that the Service of
C. [Christ] is both a duty & a blessing.

Whoever is half-hearted in his convictions –
will be also in his actions.

Who doubts the blessedness of religion – will
be but doubtfully blessed in it ~
