"Sunday Aug 5th Mokelumne River

" This Evening we had religious
"services by Rev J. A. Benton, text
"from Romans 14:-12 –. The services
"closed by the members of the E. E. [Edward Everett]
"Company singing the following Hymn
"Composed by out dear paster [pastor] –
"Rev J. A. Benton for this our
"farewell meeting –?

1 Here Lord, we meet a pilgrim band.
Once more to bless thy fostering hand
O'er seas and dangers safely come,
To scenes afar from native home.

2 Thy glory, Lord, Oceans roar.
We oft have seen; and on the Shore
Thy handiwork, thy power, thy might
By sunny day by starry night

3. And hither thus we all have strayed,
Together here our vows have paid,
In rocky dell, by brawling stream,
At dawn of day? Neath moon lit beam.
