My dear Madame.
Your letter of the 26th inst [instant] at hand. I take pleasure in sending you a Copy of the Hymn. Composed by your dear Husband Dr Benton as refered [referred] to in my letter to him. I think I was, the only one that had a Copy – I forgot to mention it to him when I last saw him at my Hotel Lake Tahoe.
Dr Benton officiated at our Marriage July 25th 1849 One
of the first marriage in California and 'Thank God it has been a very happy one.
I thank you for the Kind offer to send me a 'Memorial Book, of Dr Bentons [Benton's] life,' I shoould be pleased to receive one with Kind request from my Wife & Self.
