Rev.- and very. Dear, brother
It has been my Desire for a Long time to write you a few Lines but have
failed to do so from time to time until now. I hope you and
your family are enjoying good health, give my Love to them.
I was informed that 2 or 3 of your daughters have Professed
Religion. I wish you much joy on their account. Hope the
Lord will bless and keep them, that they may be able to stand
in the evil day, and that they may be as trees planted by the
rivers of warter [water] that bringeth forth his fruits in his Season.
river For my part what shall I say, but that my trust
is in my hean heavenly father, thou he slay me yet
will I trust him I will trust him where I can not [cannot]
trace him. Thou he chasten me with one hand he
holds me up with the other. dear brother do you ever
make a spechial [special] prayer for your Poor afflicted heart
broken and forSaken'd [foresakened] Sister. forSaken [foresaken] by one who had
Promised before almighty god that he will Stand by me
untill [until] death, but, alas he has violated his allegiance
and have proved himself an enviterate [inveterate] enemy. I
will never forget you dear brother. for you were a
friend in need, and I Believe a friend indeed. your Spirit
and mind [mine] are in Some way united I know not why
but it has been So for the Last 6 or 7 years when you
are in trouble I feel it without any one writeing [writing]
me or saying any thing [anything] to me about your troubles
while in Panama when your Child was Sick I
