Darling Edward

I have not written you
this week but wrote to Nor
Dick & Les. Jocelyn left
on Tuesday for Rice fields
just heard from him. The
heat is great [underlined] 114° when he
got there which is terrific
but next day a thunderstorm
came in which also [underlined] was
terrific as he & young Linderman
both thought they were struck

[Written vertically on left margin:]
I brought Grandma Daniels a nice bunch of flowers yesterday
I thought it was her birthday but was mistaken it was
on the
11th
June.
