Dear Edward. –

Your postal came the other
day and I certainly was glad
to hear from you. We were very sorry
indeed, not to have seen you
before you left. Effie and I
looked for you every week-end,
and now you are on your way
to France. You said you would
see us in a few years. I sincerely
hope it will be less [underlined] than a year [underlined].

We enjoyed your mother's visit with
us very much. Leslie came up
from Riverside and spent an hour

[written in left margin - end of letter:]
went another way. We were so sorry. I'm writing this letter in
the office and have no
more paper so must
close. Is
there anything
you want
me to knit
for you, say
so if you
do I'd love
to do it.
Write as
soon as
you can.
I want to
hear from
you.
Sincerely
Alice
