My dear old Edward:

I got your letter of the 15th this morning
and was very sorry to hear you had been
feeling sick, and in consequence were unable
to make the trip to Dick's Peak. You know
you must take care of yourself and not
play with your stomach i.e. take chances
with it not going back on you when you
dont treat it right. The dose of castor
oil will no doubt make you quite well
again, and you must follow Mr. Fisher's
instructions not to eat candy or drink
soda water. Be sure and let me
know how you are. You are a good
boy to write me so often. A week from
tomorrow you will leave for home and
I shall be very glad to see you again, but
will also be sorry that you are leaving
that beautiful mountain air.

We are all well at home, and send you
lots of love. Take good care of yourself
my dear boy. Always you loving Father
