My dear old Sned:

We have had two fine letters from you, the first
since your arrival in France. They are dated the 1st and
2nd of this month. We also got a picture postal with the
Chateau de Fontenay. I have sent copies of the letters to
Nor, Les, Dick & Joc and I know they will be delighted
to get them. I have had envelopes printed with
your old regiment, and I see, although you are detached
from it, that we are to still address you there. I
felt that letters would reach you quicker if the address
was plainly printed, and I hope there will be no delay.

I see by your second letter that there are 30 of you
detached but I dont know whether they are all officers
and of 'course dont know why, or where you are
heading.

I mailed you last night, a fine letter
to you from Les. He did not know your address
so asked us to forward it. We got a letter from
him yesterday in which he said, they had
posted the list of flyers who were to leave shortly
for Long Island, and that he was on the list.
We think this means Camp Mills, and if so I
suppose it means "overseas". I wish we could
get down to see him before he goes, but I dont see
how I can leave.

I wrote you recently to tell
you that Norman was now a Major. Helen is
hoping that she can get transportation to Manila
but I think it very doubtful, as the transports
are all loaded, and women do not come under
