down here were not American Sailormen at
all --- but specially chosen men sent there
to create a good impression for the United
States
--- Which was very Complimentary
was it not?"

I note that Edward is having or has been
having a great time in Southern France.
Dear boy he certainly deserves it after what
he has gone through & I hope it last long
enough for him to thoroughly recover from
his illness & for him to see everything
worth while in those parts --- And
wasn't it wonderful to have a son &
brother so honored as he was with citations
& the Croix de Guerre with the palm
I am very proud naturally & use him
to show what I would have done had
I had a chance" -- !!!

This is rich we all think & just like
like the old Dickie bird --- He likes
to bask in a reflected glory since he
was deprived of the chance to make
any of his own! --- I know we will
