I was glad[inserted above] that I went. California won
easily and did not uncover much in
the way of tricks although, when she needed
to score, she generally opened up the trick
bag and threw a trick in to the Trojans
the result always being a score. As
she pulled two major trick plays, she
scored two touchdowns. Cal looks like
a good team. They forward passed, ran
the ends and tackled well. We all hope
that the Navy plays this team — although
Jocelyn & I will probably get into a
fight — no matter who wins. The rooting
sections were well drilled but they
lacked, and the great crowd (72000)
also lacked, that essential to an
interesting football game — enthusiasm!
There was not enough noise for me.
