The remainder of the boys
that signed up with the U.S.
packed up their beds etc. in
rediness [readiness] to leave for Soissons.
Got orders at 5 P.M. that they
wouldn't go. Paul came back
from Paris and gave us a
lot of dope on the service.

Captain Mallett gave all
the fellows of the sections that
are going to serve out their
terms of inlistment [enlistment] with the Field
Service a talk. He told us
how much our services were
appreciated and that France
needs us most at the present
time during the comming [coming]
offensive, and that we
will receive our releases
just as soon as we can
