Dear Lila: -

I received your letter
yesterday and you timed it good
to get a quick response, so this is
Wednesday afternoon, and talk
about hot.

I will just relate my
experiences since yesterday morning
reville. To begin the day we
went out on field maneuvers
and they cedrtainly worked us
while we were out. I used up
two canteens of water from
eight o'clock until eleven. In
the afernoon or rather from
12:35 until four we went out
and dug trenches. I happened
to be corporal of the squad
I was in so I wasn't as bad
off as to the rest. It did me good
to see their sergeants on the
working end of a pick, but
