Dear Ma:

I havn’t heard from home for a
while but I blame it onto the
mail service. We have received
quite a lot of mail in the last
few days and we expect more
to-day. I received six letters from
Rose yesterday but I didn’t receive
the candy that she sent. I guess
I will get about a dozen more in
the next mail and maybe the
candy. I received those books that
Anita sent and they sure will
come in handy. I have several
French books already but the
books she sent have a lot of things
in them that my books havn’t.
I am learning to speak French
slow but sure.

We are having good weather
here now plenty of rain and
