Some where in France,
April 17, '18

Dear Sweetheart,

This will be a short letter as
I have not much to write. I am well
and feeling fine. We are doing lots of drill-
ing and get plenty of exercise. My
muscles are pretty sore some nights
so I can sleep pretty well. From all
indications I think we will soon
see action but just the same every
thing is very interesting. I have not
received your package so far but I
guess it will get here soon.

I received word that Otto left
for Fort Myers, Vir. so that leaves my
mother all alone. It will be pretty
lonesome for her now but I guess it
