Some where in France,
May 7, '18.

Dear Marie,

I have not received any mail
from you for nearly a month, but I am
well and feeling fine. We are only allowed
to mail two letters every week so I will
not be able to correspond as much as I
would like. We are kept pretty busy
and do not have very much spare time.
The work is very interesting and we all
have our gas masks. It sure is lots of
fun to run around with a mask on
your face but it is your best friend at
this time. We also have the steel hel-
mets you read about in the magazines
and papers.
