THE SALVATION ARMY
ON ACTIVE SERVICE
WITH THE AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
FRANCE

Karl Barion and family have been on a
river cruise with John. They all had a
fine time and I wish I had been a
long with them.

Mail has been coming in slow the
last couple of weeks, so in consequence
I feel blue and lonesome. The only thing
we can look forward to is for a letter
from home. I have not heard from
any of the bunch for a long time
but I guess they are all well.

Lester Secor has been made quater
master on some mail boat and is
sitting on the world. I wish I had
joined the naval reserve when I had
the opportunity. It gets pretty tire --
some chasing the boche on foot and
that is about all the transportation
we ever see.

Well dear I do not know what
to write any longer so will close.
