Decription. Leaves 3 or 4. all arising from a
few large. brownish, oblong scales on the top
of the root. 3 or 4" long. elliptical, slightly
waved, very acute, [crossed out: abut] aboute 3-nerved,
of a deep yellowish-green on the upper
side, with a peculiarly satiny lustre.
beneath paler & somewhat glaucous. The
base tapers into a stout petiole, about
equal in length with the blade of the leaf.
Scape 8 or 10" high., pale, reddish. terete
bearing 3 or 4 sheathing, acuminated, pale
green bracteas, & at the extremity, a spike
of 6 to 7 distantly-placed, pale, yellowish-green
flowers. Petals linear & very much acuminated
