funds at their office in Richmond to [Orretors Petters?]
or assigns, the sum of Six Hundred Dollars quarterly,
on the first day of April, July, October, and the first of January, 1865, being for hire of
his slave named Alex

said Slave to be employed on the VIRGINIA CENTRAL RAILROAD, and to be returned
well clothed.
