At Court Continued and held for the County of Rockingham on at the Courthouse of the said County Present And'w Shanklin Benjamin Smith Ezek'l Harrison & Reubin Harrison John Ewin
Deed of B&S John Thomas to Benjamin Harrison John Gratton Geo: Christman Josiah Davison & H F Ewin was prov'd by the oaths of Jonathan Shipman & Samuel McWilliams & O: to be certified {O.F.} Settlement of the State Acc'ts. of Fred'k Armontrout decd. was Ret'd. & O: to be Re'd {2075 3 6225} Jacob Songers is apptd. overseer of the old Rode from Geo Shanklins to North River at McGrattons and it is O:Y all Tith's within 3 Miles on Each side work thereon & of the keep the same in good Repair and that Arno Dike be appoint'd Overseer of Sd. Rode from the Riv to the Cty Line & that all Tithables within 3 Mile Each side work thereon & that he keep the same in Repair abs't. And'w Shanklin

Andw Shanklin James Curry & Brewer Reeves being appoint'd to [Overs] the Rode from this Courthouse to Michael Warrens Reported to Turn off by s'd Warrens house & by the spring then to fall into the old Rode &with the s'd Rode near the foot of the Hill near Jeremiah Ragins field from thence through s'd Raginsfield thence along the Dividing Ridge on the w's of Rich'd Raginsfield crossing the [sink] draft above the Old glasgo rode & thence into the Main Street at John Blacks Ordered that Robt Rutherford be appoint'd overseer to open & keep in good Repair the said Rode as [Mark'd?] from the [C M ?] to the foot of the Hill near ragins and that all [Tiths?] within 3 miles on Each side work thereon and that the former overseer open the other part as Mark'd. Jeremiah Ragin Andw Shanlin James Curry & Brewer Reeves being appt'd to view & make such alterations as they think necessary on the Rode from Leonard Harrings old place to this courthouse Report'd to turn of the old Rode streight course to join the od Rode Leading from the Courthouse Michl Warrens at John Blacks O: [?] Robt RutherfordAndw Shanlin be appd overseer to open & Keep in good Repair sd Rode & [?] all Tith's with in 3 miles on each side of s'd Rodework thereon
