ok this morning wee thought that wee would hav som lye homeny and we went to work and made a large camp kettle full and got our night wood was our days work mike and bil went to town on a pass yes I mad a trough to put our [warm?] homeny in

THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 1865. I hav just bin relievd from picket and in time for four o clock inspection they had brigade inspection at ten o clock to day, to night I hav bin schorching my shirt to kill the lise so that I can sleep.
