family have had very bad colds. Some of our neighbors are afflicted in the same way. Mrs. Tillinghast & Mrs. [Morning Owery?] & called yesterday. They both spoke of you & joined in the woeful lamentation, "he is without a wife." I think Mrs. Tillinghast is a charming woman. Their oldest daughters are both teachers. Sara Ann has a school in VA & Robin [?] has one at home. Nanny [?] & Eliza [?] expect to leave next week. I have seen but little of them.
