The vice President vacated the Chair
and M. Marks was called to the
chair pro tem:

On motion, as the President, vice
President, and Treasurer, have
resigned, that a meeting be called
for Tuesday, May 07 at 8 P.M. to
elect officers in their place, which
was carried.

On motion the meeting adjourned.

Special Meeting was held July 10th 1859 at Temperance
Hall at 2 o'clock P.M.
President in the chair.

Mr S. Rosenthal handed in his resignation as Chazzan,
Shochet & Teacher and the same was accepted
and on motion the said Rosenthal requested
to act in that capacity till a successor
is elected.

A communication was received of Mr. Peck who
offered himself for Chazzan, Shochet, Teacher
& Reader, and the same was accepted --
A committee was appointed to examine the
credentials of the Rev. Peck , and the said
committee consisted of M.Newman and Isaac
Stone who reported in favor of it.

It was moved that we shall go in to an election
for Chazzan, Shochet, Teacher & collector
in place of Mr. Rosenthal resigned.
Rev. Peck was nominated and the same
was elected unaminously for 6 months, at a
salary of $85 per month with
