Sacramento, December 8th, 1861

A special meeting of the Board of Officers was held
President D. Kohn in the chair. The president
reported that the fire insurance company have offered
$1500.00 for damages to our synagogue.

On motion of S. Zekind, Mr. Elkus was appointed as
committee to assist the president in effecting a
settlement with said insurance co. and sue
in the name of the congregation providing said
insurance co. offer less than two thousand dollars.
Motion was carried. On motion the meeting
adjourned.
