Sacramento, September 2th, 1883

A adjourned meeting of the Board
of Officers was held at 2 1/2 o'clock P.M.
at Mr. Kozminsky's Office.
Mr. L. Elkus, President, in the Chair.

At roll call, Messrs. Kozminsky & Levy
was noted absent.

Minutes of last regular monthly
and special meeting of August 31th
were read and approved.

A proposition from D. Lubin to become
a member of this Congregation
was read and on motion the same
was accepted and Mr. Lubin elected.

Resignation of Mr. S. Gottlieb
was read and on motion
the same was accepted.

A communication from Dr. J. Bloch was
read. He wishes to have a choir engaged
and an assistant to say the prayers for
Shacharit [Note] without a choir.

The President stated that
he has engaged the same
choir what was before.
On motion the same was
approved.

On motion of Mr. Lavinson a committee
of 3 be appointed to try to
get a Shacharit chazzan. Carried.

The president appointed Messrs.
Lavinson, Robertcheck & Morris.

[Note: Shacharit = morning prayers. This might have referred to special holiday morning prayers for the upcoming Holy days. It might also have referred to daily morning prayers.]
