Sacramento, February 26th, 1889

A special meeting of the board of officers was held at 7 1/2 o'clock P.M. Mr. L. Elkus president in the chair.

A quorum being present the president stated this called for to examine the application for Rabbi. The board had all the letters read and recommended to the members of the congregation of the following applicant. Rev. Blum, Coleman, Rosenblat, and Muller.

On motion the secretary was instructed to call a meeting of the congregation on Sunday March the 3st at 2 1/2 o'clock P.M. and present the applications.

On motion the meeting adjourned.

Sacramento, April 29th, 1889

A special meeting of the board of officers was held at 7 1/2 o'clock P.M.

Mr. L. Elkus president in the chair. At roll call, a quorum being present in absence of the secretary the president appointed Mr. Gratz secretary pro tem.

The president stated the object of this meeting is to consider the proposition of Dr. Korn to fill the vacancy as Rabbi of our congregation. After a long discussion, it was moved and seconded that Dr. Korn be accepted to fill the vacancy. Motion lost.

In consideration of the fact that Dr. Korn has been under expenses during his stay with us and as much as he came without invitation and asked to be heard it was moved and carried that the president be empowered to give him $25.00 also to pay his board and lodging up to this time he left.

There appearing no further business, the meeting adjourned.

A special meeting of the board of officers was held at 7 1/2 o'clock P.M.

Mr. L. Elkus President in the chair. At roll call, a quorum being present the minutes of last special meeting was read and approved.

The president stated this meeting was called to hear further applications for Rabbis.

Which the application of Rev. Coleman was selected, and on motion that the secretary be instructed to write Rev. Coleman that his application was considered and that he could visit our city under the agreement as per advertisement.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.

Sacramento, May 21th, 1889

Special meeting of the Board of Officers was held at 7 1/2 o'clock P.M. Mr. L. Elkus president in the chair. At roll call, a quorum was present.

The president stated that Mr. Weinstock will go east and it would be adviseable to authorize him in regard to Rabbi.

On motion, it was resolved to give Mr. H. Weinstock full power to act for us in selection of a Rabbi. Carried.

On motion, the secretary be instructed to communicate with Mr. Weinstock and ask him to select a Rabbi.

No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned.

Sacramento, June 26th, 1889

A special meeting of the board of officers was held at 8 P.M.

Mr. L. Elkus, president, in the chair.

The president stated this meeting is called for that two young ladies who has been singing in the choir since commencement and are going to be married next Sunday. It would be no more than right to make a small present to each of these ladies. He refers to Miss Ad Wilson and Miss Albertine Elkus. On motion, the president and vice president be authorized to buy each of the ladies a wedding present not to exceed $25.00 for each present. Carried.

There appearing no further business, the meeting adjourned.
