Sacramento, July 2, 1903

The Board met in the synagogue at 8 P.M.
Mr. Albert Elkus presided in the chair.
Roll call Mr. A. Bonhum and H.L. Stich were
noted absent.
Minutes of last regular meeting read and
approved.

The chair announced that Mr. Wright and
Kimbrough had not as yet tendered the balance
of $7500 for final payment for the property.
The secretary was instructed to communicate with
Messrs. Wright and Kimbrough [Note] giving them
10 days wherin to fulfill the contract entered into.

The communication reads as follows

Messrs. C.E. Wright and H. Kimbough
Dear Sirs
Please take notice that the Board of Trustees of the
Congregation B'nai Israel, of this city, at its regular
meeting held July 2/03, resolved to inform you
that unless you or either of you, pay to its treasurer
Mr. Emil Steinman the sum of $7500.00 within
10 days from date hereof, the agreement of sale of
the present synagogue lot and building heretofor entered
into between you and said board will no longer
be considered binding on the part of said
Board or Congregation, and that the said
Congregation will have a claim against you
for damages sustained by it by reason of your
failure to comply with the terms of said
agreement.
