Mr. B. Wilson, the vice president was authorized
to dispose of the organ for not less than $75.00.
The following communication from Rabbi B.M.
Kaplan under date July 8/04 was read as
follows.

To the board of officers, Congregation B'nai
Israel, Sacramento
Gentlemen --
I am pleased to inform you that my home
has been blessed with a newly born son who will
be initiated into the Abrahamic rite next
Monday, January 11 at 11:30 A.M.
Mrs. Kaplan and I regret very much that owing
to lack of accommodations, we cannot have the
pleasure of inviting all the members of the
congregation to the ceremony. But we extend a most
cordial invitation to you as a board who will
then represent the whole congregation. Mrs. Kaplan
and I would be pleased to have the president of
the congregation act as the godfather, and the
vice president as sandek [Note 1].
Very Respectfully yours,
Bernard M. Kaplan

On motion it was ordered that the invitation
be accepted with thanks.

Communication of Mr. N. Zemansky, dated January 8/04
calling the attention of the board that at the
request of some of the members of the congregation, he
engaged the services of Mr. DeLigne [Note 2] for
twenty-five dollars and that the bill should
be paid. On motion it was ordered that
the communication be placed on file, that
the same matter has already be dispensed of.

In relation to purchasing a suitable lot
to build a house of worship. The committee
was instructed to buy: first choice, the lot
on L, 15 and 16, not to exceed $2000.00
Second choice, lot on 15, N and O, not to exceed
$1800.00
