Sacramento, April 1, 1904
The board of officers of the Congregation
B'nai Israel met after the services in Unity
Hall, Odd Fellows Temple at 9 P.M.
Mr. Albert Elkus, president, presiding.
Roll call, Mr. Moses S. Lavenson, trustee noted
absent.
Minutes of last regular meeting read and
approved.
The matter of space for the new synagogue
was taken up and Mr. Elkus stated that the
plan which was to be changed was to have
a center aisle, but the architect, Mr. Hohn,
had cut out the center aisle, believing that
it would give more seating capacity.
Mr. Elkus suggested that we had better
to have the plan altered, to have a
center aisle and that we might as well
use all the ground for the building.
Mr. A. Bonnheim moved and duly seconded
that the entire lot be utilized for the
building. The motion was unanimously
carried.
The regular salaries for the month of March
were ordered paid, warrants drawn on
the treasurer for the amount.
Bill for $3.00 for digging holes in front
of the cemetery to plant trees was read
and ordered paid.
No further business appearing, the
meeting adjourned.
