Regular meeting of the Board Sacramento, September 25, 1901 The Board met in the synagogue at 8 P.M. Full Board present. Mr. Albert Elkus, President, in the chair. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. The following communication was read. To the Officers and Members of Congregation B'nai Israel. Dear Sirs: Permit me to express my sincere appreciation of your New Year greeting embodied in the beautiful copy of "Shakespeare in Music." With my thanks also go my best wishes to the Congregation B'nai Israel for a new year of spiritual prosperity. Cordially yours, Sophia Price Sacramento, September, 1901 The President stated that he took upon himself to make the present for the many services rendered by Miss Price in assisting the choir. On motion it was ordered that the actions of the President be approved. Mr. Rosenstadt made application for membership but Mr. L. Heilbron to whom the application was given by Mr. J. Ginsburg thought that the applicant would not be willing to pay the initiation fee of $2.50 and withdrew the application and the Secretary instructed to communicate with the gentleman and inform him of the rules and bylaws of the congregation. The following bills read and ordered paid Sacramento Electricity, Gas, and Railroad Co. 2.00 Bloch Publishing Co. 12 prayer books 10.53 H.S. Crocker and Co. 4.50 Locke and Lavenson decorating the synagogue in mourning 10.00 L. Salomon ads in Bee and Record 2.20
