JULY 29.
Quite nice again to day but it keeps very smoky
and rather cooler than it was. Lew irrigated on
the buckwheat and done other odd jobs. Bert
chored around in the forenoon and raked oats in the
afternoon. I mowed the oats then cut a
small piece of alfalfa then went out with a
scythe and mowed by the ditches.

JULY 30.
Tues
Oh how nice and smoky and warm.
Mr Goodan came to cut wheat. Broke his
pitman had to go to town and get another. Got
the wheat about half cut. Lew set up. Bert
hoed some in the forenoon and raked in the
afternoon. I mowed the weeds up at the
Whindy ill [Windy Hill] place and then irrigated from
Laeimer [Larimer] Co ditch. Had 8 inches to right irrigated
from our own ditch on buckwheat patch
