4 or 5 in [inches] to share Fri AUGUST 2. Very fine day. It played thunder some about noon and sprinkled a few sprinks but that was all. Will Dixon came to help us to day. Him and Lew tore down the south stable and hauled a couple of loads of hay and put in the loft and shocked up a lot of hay. I irrigated a little in the morning then finished mowing over on the hill then irrigated on the timber claim with about 12 inches of water for three shares.

AUGUST 3. Sat Quite nice with the usual sprinkle in the middle of the day. Lew and Will hauled one load of hay then stayed the cornfield fences and shocked the hay in the afternoon. Bert raked and bunched the hay that I cut yesterday. I irrigated on the timber claim with a very small amount of water. Concluded to quit and go at the piece of alfalfa east of the lake. Just enough for [agriculture?].

AUGUST 4. Sun Very nice and quite warm. Lew went to town and seen his gall [gal] I guess. Lill went home for a vacation of a week to go to the mountains. Bert didnt go home to day. He worked the bees out of the honey that Mr Breninger took out yesterday. I irrigated what I could with about 8 or 9 inches of water to the share. [On right side reading up from bottom]: 8 or 9 to share

Mon AUGUST 5. Lovely to day but rather warm. Will Dixon didnt come but Lew and Bert hauled 5 loads and I help unload it and fixed up the pear trees that were liable to break down with their loads of fruit. Then for fear that I might get into mischief I irrigated between spells had water ruming [running] from the lake onto the East cornfield and the gardens and about 6 inches to the right from the Larimer Co Ditch ruming [running] into the alfalfa piece East of the lake. [On right side reading up from bottom]: 6 in to share

Tues AUGUST 6. Rather warm but I guess that it couldnt help it. Will Dixon came this morning and they all three hauled. They hauled 3 loads of hay in the forenoon and three loads of oats in the afternoon. I busied myself by irrigating in two or three places and hoeing some fixing bridge some and various odd jobs so that I didnt get into mischief much.

AUGUST 7. Wed Nice as ever. Will and Lew hauled one load of oats and 4 of wheat. Bert and I irrigated with plenty of water for our supply came from the dry creek ditch and the lake. We run it on to the corn in the NW corner and on to the alfalfa piece over on the hill. The Larimer Co ditch is dead again.

Thurs AUGUST 8. Just as nice as ever and just now it is putting on style for it is raining quite nicely. Will and Lew hauled 4 loads of wheat and the stack is in a poor fix to get a rain. Bert and I irrigated over on the hill and in the cornfield. Got along tolerable well and that is all we did get.

Friday AUGUST 9. Quite nice and sprinkled a little to day and quite a little rain last night so that it is wet down about 1 1/2 inches. We finished irrigating the piece of corn in the NW corner and the piece of alfalfa over on the west side and the orchard and irrigated some in the other cornfield and finished stacking the wheat and fenced in the oats and nearly fenced the wheat stacks.
