AUGUST 4.
Sun
Very nice and quite warm. Lew went to town
and seen his gall [gal] I guess. Lill went home
for a vacation of a week to go to the mountains.
Bert didnt go home to day. He worked the
bees out of the honey that Mr Breninger took out
yesterday. I irrigated what I could with about
8 or 9 inches of water to the share.

Mon
AUGUST 5.
Lovely to day but rather warm. Will Dixon
didnt come but Lew and Bert hauled 5 loads and
I help unload it and fixed up the pear trees
that were liable to break down with their loads
of fruit. Then for fear that I might get into
mischief I irrigated between spells had water
ruming [running] from the lake onto the East cornfield and the gardens and about 6 inches to the right from the Larimer Co Ditch
ruming [running] into the alfalfa piece East of the lake.
[On right side reading up from bottom]: 6 in to share
