Sun June 1st Very nice day. Lew started this morning to take Fancy down to Greeley. He drove Dandy to the cart and led Fancy. I changed the water a couple of times on the wheat and alfalfa and kept Sunday the rest of the day.

Mon June 2 Nice again. Lew has not got home yet. Dave went to town. Plummer went with him. I finished up the piece of wheat north of the house and the piece of alfalfa East of the lake. Irrigated some on the piece this side of the windy hill house and put in a couple of checks in the ditch that is filled from the basin rocks head gate.

Tues June 3rd Nice in the forenoon but blowed lots this afternoon. Lew has not got back from Greeley yet. I tried to irrigate some of the time to day [today] but when Balcom set the gate at basin rocks he only gave me about 40 inches of water. There was about 6 inches in the wier before he put any in caused by leakage and he added about 3 inches in a 12 inch wier.

Wed June 4 Wind blew all day like sin. Lew got home last night about 10 O clock and he irrigated to day [today] on the hill piece of alfalfa and the wheat field towards the N W corner. Dave and I put in the wier further down the ditch that is close to the railroad. I attended to irrigating all day up on the windy hill place. Mr Balcom gave me about as much again water to day [today] so I now have about 70 or 75 inches and I seem to do some good with it that is near 25 inches to the share.

Thurs June 5 Wind blew pretty strong all day. Lew irrigated on the wheat and alfalfa on the hill. Dave went to town. I irrigated on the windy hill place. Mr Balcom came along and cut me down to 16 inches to the share and that makes mighty slow getting along.

Fri June 6 Cold as blazes most of the day. Lew irrigated in the alfalfa over on the hill. Dave and the rest Plummer Meda and May went to town to see the college close. I tried to irrigate a little but the water played out so that I couldnt do any good at it. I measured at 3 O clock I had 8 inches to the share. Brandis 40 and Lindemyer and Richards about 7½ to the share. At quitting time I had none.

Sat June 7 Quite nice to day [today]. Lew harrowed the new brake pieces with 3 horses most of the time. I went up and fixed the gate to run water on to the little meadow then sowed a couple acres of oats then went over and regulated the water on the hill then after dinner went and planted to punkins [pumpkins] and squashes two pieces of new breaking. Aggie dropped the seed then I went over and has going to regulate the water on the little meadow but Balcom had not unlocked the gate so I have had only one day that I had a half decent head of water this week so the rest of the time it has been from 16 inches to the share to nothing. Lew went up to the hills just at night.
