Wednesday July 2 Tried to rain but only blowed a part of the afternoon. We all fished a while this morning caught about 85 and broke the top rope to the seine so we had to quit and Dave went to town and got some rope and twine and then fixed it. Jo mowed around with a scythe. Lew raked the hay up near the house then he and Jo hauled a load. I mowed and irrigated the alfalfa on the piece east of the lake.

Thurs July 3 Quite nice. Lew helped haul a couple of loads in the morning then raked the rest of the day over on the hill and got done. Dave went to town attended the co alliance meeting. Jo Crawford and I hauled hay and I irrigated for a dessert. We got the stacks all done up in good shape. I settled with Jo and paid him.

Dave went on up to Will Dixons. I believe there is a dance at Wills place to night [tonight] he said that he would be back Sunday.

Wed July 9 Pretty warm again to day. Dave skinned 84 lbs of catfish and took them over to town. The rest of us worked at haying hauled 5 loads raked some and I finished cutting the first crop.

Thurs July 10 Quite warm and rained a little bit but not enough here to amount to any thing but I think we got the best kind of a rain up at the Rough and Ready ranch. We hauled one small load of hay and finished the stack. Lew raked a little and Bert plowed out the little patch towards the barn and the windy hill squash patch. Dave skinned and marketed about 70 lbs of cat fish. Anda and Lug came to night.
