Tues March first Sort of a cool hazy day. Alec and Lew hauled some hay for the sheep this forenoon and left for Mr McNeals just afternoon and Dave got here a little after noon. Lew hauled a load of manure and him and Dave hitched up Lews Prince and drove him some. I worked at various jobs in the shop and orchard and kept at it all day.

Wed March 2 Mostly clear and a little softer to day. Lew and Dave hauled manure mostly to day. I cleaned out the scatterings from the sheep pen and painted the wood work in the dining room.

Thurs March 3 Pretty fair day but squally in the mountains. The boys hauled manure in the forenoon and hay for the steers in the afternoon. I painted. Mr Nye was here and went up to see about bridging the new ditch the feeder to Long pond.

Fri March 4 A dismal cloudy day rained slowly a good part of the day and rained lots last night. The boys done the chores and Lew went to town to do the errands there and bring the girls home. I painted awhile but felt out of sorts so I gave up the brush to Dave.

Sat March 5 Another cloudy dismal day and it spit rain a little too. The boys hauled some hay for the sheep and some for the cattle and fetched down some straw to put into the sheep yards. I worked at the screen doors fitting and painting them.

Sun March 6 Snowed a little in the forenoon and later on it cleared up some but it was not so very cold. Lew and May went over to Mr Cushions. Mr Smiths folks were here awhile to day.

Monday March 7 About like we have been enjoying for awhile back. The boys hauled hay for the sheep and steers. Mother and I went to the ditch meeting started about 10 O clock and stopped at Mr Cushions and visited with Mr Fairbanks's folks awhile. Then went on over awful roads and got to the meeting in time. The result of the meeting was to elect C V Howard L B Taft and myself trustees. Vote an assessment of 18 dollars to the share $10 in cash and $8 in work then went up to John Dragers and staid [stayed] all night found Johns folks pretty well all but Alma. She had the earache.

Tues March 8 Some wind by spells but not very cold. I left John Dragers after breakfast left Mother there for a weeks visit went via the head gate and closed down the waste gate so as to get a little more water took Clarance to the schoolhouse then went to Charley Pennocks got some cions [scions] and a receipt for Blight medicine then came home and put in the ballance [balance] of the day painting in the kitchen except while I was visiting with Mr Haag.

Wed March 9 Cloudy and cold with some wind and a little snow towards night. The boys hauled some hay for the sheep and some manure in the afternoon. I painted some in the kitchen and some screen doors and one window screen.

Thurs March 10 Quite a nice day. Lew was general chore man and Dave and I went up to the Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch and found things in pretty fair fix up there cattle and horses all well and plenty of feed and water.

Fri March 11 Very nice and quite warm only a while in the morning. Lew and Harry Dixon killed the old brindle Wyley cow in the forenoon and in the afternoon Lew and Dave worked at different things. We came home from the ranch and got home about 2 O clock. I painted some and trimmed a few trees down in the orchard.

Sat March 12 Quite a light coulored [colored] day but some wind with it. Lew hauled some hay to the sheep and steers. I helped some in the forenoon in the afternoon I
