Wed Oct 18 Nice. We worked at getting
the potatoes. We plowed them out and
picked then [them] up and I gues [guess] we will get
through by noon tomorrow.

Thurs Oct 19 Nice as ever.
The boys finished digging the potatoes this
forenoon and this afternoon they went
with Ted down to Corys and got two calves
one for Ted and one for Lew. Teds was 3 dols [dollars]
and Lews was two. I irrigated the strawberries
this forenoon and this afternoon I was so
lame that I didnt do much of anything.

Fri Oct 20 Good. Lew plowed on
the piece below the orchard but didnt
get quite done. I covered the potatoe
holes this forenoon and started this
afternoon to clean out and fix the
grainery but some rangers came here
and after about 2 hours good hard
preaching we bought one for 78 dolls [$78.00].
Paid 15 [$15.00] down and they credited us 1 30/100 [$1.30]
for discount and the rest is due
next Sept first without int [interest].

Sat Oct 21 Clear and nice. Lew
helped Hary [Harry] Dixon thresh awhile this
morning then chored around some. Kib
left this morning and this afternoon
David and Rhoda Laing came and we were
tickled. Sure we have visited strong all
of the time since.
