Sun Apr 1st Real nice to day [today] and
fortune favored us with a visit from quite
a number of our friends to visit Chala
Hattie Bertie Nelly Wils Edna and Allie Black
R E Ettie Ida Kate and Grace Dotts
Frank C Mary Cary Nora Perry and Archie
Black Lewis and Mary Black Mr Nimas and Meda
and we had lots of a time.

Mon April 2 Pretty fair this
forenoon but the wind blew a gale this
afternoon making it pretty near dark
from sand and dust. John plowed all
day over on the hill piece and when he
stopped to shut the gate where he came
out of the field. The horses Bonny and
Dom started and run away and
when they came to the corner of the
grove they run against the trees and
Dom got terribly hurt by striking his
head against a tree but he might
possibly have got over that but he broke
his hind leg just above his gambrel
joint. I sowed wheat this forenoon
and this afternoon I worked some in
the shop.

Tues April 3 Clear but quite cold
and windy. We killed and buried poor Dom and
then Johhy went to town for the mail and I
fixed the head gate below the lake and let some
water run on to the piece in the north
west corner of the place.
